Marmalade

This small community is located just west of the State Capital Building (which just completed an extensive renovation).  The Marmalade district gets its name from the names of the streets-- many are named after ingredients in jams or preserves (Apricot, Quince, Almond). This is one of Salt Lake's emerging markets. Many of the homes represent an opportunity to buy low and fix-up! With prices starting at about $200k and can climb to $700k. There is also a new high-end condominium complex just hitting the market with the penthouse units selling just above $1m.

This area is becoming an "Arts" destination with small galleries springing up and quaint eateries like "Ems" http://www.emsrestaurant.com/ .

I have placed several clients into this area that were looking for a quaint neighborhood with a possible upside due to the fact it has not been fully discovered yet. All of them have been delighted with the location.
